A new Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom trailer is out, and it shows more of Arthur Curry’s next adventure and the final DCEU movie. This year will bring an end to the DCEU timeline as Warner Bros. Discovery is paving the way for Peter Safran and James Gunn’s DC Universe as part of DC Studios. While Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom may not have been planned to serve as the DCEU finale, the December movie will bring an end to the franchise that began in June 2013 with Man of Steel.
Directed by James Wan, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is being set up as a buddy cop adventure between Arthur Curry and his half-brother, Orm. As Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will be released in only a month from now, Warner Bros. Pictures has revealed a new trailer with tickets now on sale.
The Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom trailer kicks off from Arthur’s POV as he is telling his new son about the exciting life that awaits him under the sea. This Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom trailer also gives more glimpses of Black Manta’s greater rise to power, as he is out for revenge against the King of Atlantis.

What The Latest Aquaman 2 Trailer Reveals About The Final DCEU Movie
While the first Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom trailer was a big taste of the story, the latest footage is much more action-orientated, bringing back some of the best elements from the first Aquaman movie. With Black Manta now taking the position of the big bad, more battle sequences are featured between him and Aquaman. The Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom trailer does also, interestingly enough, frame the story as “Aquaman’s last stand,” foreshadowing perhaps a different ending for Momoa’s film series.
One of the big takeaways from the latest Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom trailer is how David Kane ends up with the Black Trident. In the footage, Black Manta describes to someone that he had to make a deal with the devil to achieve this power upgrade. While it is unclear who it is, a dark spirit is seen saying to Black Manta that if he frees him from his prison, “all my powers will be yours.”
During a recent appearance on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, Momoa reiterated once again that he is involved with DC Studios’ upcoming DC Universe reboot.
Time will tell how Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will be received, as this is one of the DCEU movies that have reportedly had a chaotic production. With the SAG-AFTRA strike over, the Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom press tour will be interesting to follow, especially given the situations with Amber Heard and some of the recent allegations against Momoa and Wan. Hopefully, with Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom set to end the DCEU, the final movie will allow the franchise to end on a strong note.
