Iman comes from a Muslim family, and in this series, she plays Marvel’s first Muslim Superhero. Once, he spoke about this experience and said,
Growing up, I felt very disconnected from my culture and religion because I grew up in Canada. I don’t have brown friends who are not from my mosque and I don’t hang out with them. Filming the show, I learned a lot about my ancestry. That’s the special thing I get to share with the character, and that’s because I work with so many incredible creators who come from a Muslim or Pakistani background.
