New DC Universe fan art imagines what Joker voice actor Mark Hamill could look like as the Clown Prince of Crime in live-action. When it comes to Joker in animation, Hamill is universally recognized as the voice of the legendary Batman villain. Even though many actors have portrayed Joker, Hamill has continued to be the most well-received star to lend his talents to the DC baddie.

Even though Hamill got to voice Joker in the Birds of Prey live-action TV show in the early 2000s, the beloved Hollywood actor has yet to play him in live-action. To show what he could look like as the DC foe, VisualGodX shared new artwork of Hamill as Joker in a potential live-action project.

The closest Hamill has gotten to playing Joker in any DC live-action project is both of The Flash TV shows through his character James Jesse, a.k.a. The Trickster, who is similar to the Batman enemy. In The Flash season 3, Hamill played the Earth-3 version of The Trickster, who had a major resemblance to Joker in terms of costume and make-up.

What’s Next For The Joker In Live-Action?

When it comes to Joker’s future live-action adventures, DC Elseworlds project Joker: Folie à Deux will be the next major project for the Batman villain to appear in as Joaquin Phoenix is reprising the role in 2024. The highly anticipated sequel will feature Lady Gaga as the latest live-action incarnation of Harley Quinn as Todd Phillips continues to build out his take on the DC mythology. While Joker: Folie à Deux plot details are being kept under wraps, the Elseworlds-based movie will actually be a musical, which is the first time a major comic book movie is tackling that genre.

Another Elseworlds franchise that might have more Joker coming up is Matt Reeves’ The Batman universe after Barry Keoghan made his debut in the 2022 movie for a short but unforgettable cameo. While it is unclear if he will actually appear in The Batman – Part II, Keoghan’s Joker is clearly meant to be a larger player down the line. In terms of James Gunn’s DC Universe, the infamous Batman antagonist is bound to show up in the new continuity, whether that be in or after Batman: The Brave and The Bold.

When it comes to Joker, he will always be someone who continues to be reimagined, both in live-action and animation. Even though he has been used a lot over the years, it can’t be denied that every actor who has been tapped as Joker has been able to add something unique to their own respective version of the DC icon. As more DC movies and TV shows keep coming, it will be exciting to see what is in store for Joker and his numerous live-action paths.
