The MonsterVerse continues with the Godzilla spinoff Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, which is coming out at the perfect time. The upcoming series, created for AppleTV+, is set after the events of Godzilla vs. Kong. It will center on two siblings following in their father’s footsteps and uncovering their connection to the secret organization known as the Monarch. The series is produced by Legendary Television and created by Chris Black. Its cast includes Kurt Russell and his son, Wyatt Russell, as well as Anna Sawai and Kiersey Clemons.
Godzilla is one of the most famous movie monsters ever and a symbol of Japanese pop culture. The Godzilla franchise spans over 37 films, including 33 Japanese installments and four American movies, with a fifth Godzilla set for release in 2024. The one that started it all was the 1954 Godzilla, with Ishirō Honda directing and co-writing. Besides films, the Godzilla IP also includes TV series, novels, comic books, and video games — and the newest TV show is arriving at an ideal time.

Monarch: Legacy Of Monsters Releases Shortly After 2 Godzilla Movies Came To Netflix
Godzilla’s Current Popularity Will Help The Spinoff
Legendary’s Monarch: Legacy of Monster will premiere at the perfect time. The Apple TV+ will be released on November 17, shortly after the last two Godzilla movies — Godzilla vs. Kong and Godzilla: King of the Monsters — were released on Netflix. Although this was not planned and is pure luck for the upcoming series, 2021’s Godzilla vs. Kong is one of the trending movies on Netflix. The series premiering right after the two movies were released online will create the necessary excitement for the upcoming spinoff to succeed.
Monarch: Legacy of Monsters is the second television series in the MonsterVerse after Netflix’s animated show Skull Island. The upcoming series is the first live-action one and will tie into the greater cinematic universe, adding new and recurring Titans to the MonsterVerse. Among them will be Mother Longlegs and Mantleclaw. Endoswarmer is also expected to appear. The MonsterVerse has primarily featured Godzilla and King Kong, starting with 2014’s Godzilla reboot and continuing with Kong: Skull Island, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Godzilla vs. Kong, and the upcoming Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.
